UBB Help
Well, it's possible to calculate how long a certain file or set of files will take to download over a given connection speed. '56k' means 56 kilobits of data transfered every second. Divide it by 8 and you get the number of kilobytes per second the connection can download in theoretical ideal conditions. So, if your connection speed is x, and the collective total of your page and its accompanying style-sheets, images and java-scripts is y, and the download time is t: t = y / (x / 8.0) Therefor, if your connection speed is 56Kb, and your total file sizes are 53KB (noting that Kb means Kilobit, and KB means Kilobyte) t = 53 / (56 / 8.0) = 53 / 7 = 7.57 seconds Justice 4 Pat Richard
