[/quote] if i get one e-mail from a company trying to promote a product/service, i'd call it marketing or just a mail shot. if i get 10 e-mails from a company saying I've been accepted for the loan i didn't apply for, it's spam. if i get an e-mail from a company saying they can stop me from getting spam e-mails for good 'click here' and all that happens is my details are added to their databases for them to send me more spam, it's a scam.
