December 15th I think it was...a big wind blew in.... and I do mean BIG. Somehow, we escaped pretty much unscathed but I doubt we'll be so fortunate next time as the trees on our neighbour's property that HAD been acting as a buffer are pretty much gone and many of those still standing will have to come down.

The man with the chainsaw is our good neighbour...and I gotta say I have no idea what this neighbourhood would do without him... he is quite amazing.

Oh...and our worst storms usually hit in Feb/Mar... Can't wait. =)

I wouldn't say "nice" pictures for some evident reasons, but very impressive; especially the last one, which very much shocked me as I hadn't really realised the damages...

Ah, Mother Nature. Gotta love her.
Our first major winter storm may be later this week. Mid 50s Wed., start snowing Thur. The forcast only went until Monday, but it was still snowing. Peak winds through the period...50 mph.
Yeehaw.

I'm with George Carlin.

I love it when Mother Nature flexes and breaks stuff that we make.

Last weeks in December buried Denver in feet upon feet of snow. Still lots of it out there, huge drifts that are exacerbated by the recent high winds, closing highways and making the roads into huge planes of ice.

We're expecting more snow this weekend.

I mean, I don't want anyone to get hurt or die in any tragedy of Earth's creation... but I sure do like it when it keeps snowing and snowing and snowing or raining and raining and raining.

Gives me pause.
