![]() Okay, I just installed Photoshop 5.5 on my XP computer (my old computer was Win98 and worked fine, if slowly). I'm trying to paste a Times New Roman character copied from the Character Map (the black suit heart, U+2665). When I paste the character, I get a "?". I don't get it! Even trying to type in the Unicode gives me a different character than I expect (U+0055 should give a "U", but instead gives me a "7". I don't get it! I can paste perfectly from the Character Map to Word or anywhere else. Everything but Photoshop. |

![]() Make sure your text area is set to use a font with a decent amount of Unicode support. |

![]() I have no idea what that means, but I would guess/hope that Times New Roman has enough Unicode support. |

![]() I have no idea what could be causing the issue, but just to make sure we've covered the bases: |

![]() Yep, that was the first thing I tried. I opened Word, and the heart (and everything else I tried) pasted in from the Character Map just fine. Photoshop is the only Paste-destination that is causing problems. I even tried copying from Word to Photoshop, with no luck. Normal letters paste fine, but anything past Unicode 00FF returns "?". Any reason why Photoshop wouldn't understand three-digit hexidecimal Unicode? |
