I made a quick mod to my Firefox. I'm mostly posting this to get it on Google and other search engines because I couldn't find the solution online. I like the tabs squished (like v1.x) rather than scrollable (like v2.x), so I made this config mod:

1. Go to "about:config"
2. Search for "width" or "tabs"
3. Modify browser.tabs.tabClipWidth from 140 to 14
4. Modify browser.tabs.tabMinWidth from 100 to 10

Done.

I'm currently using that version. Did you restart Firefox after the change?
