How do i embed video and make it unavailable to a viewer for file download. If i use <embed> or <object> the source shows the file name and the user can download the file. How do i hide it / make it non-downloadable so that the user will have to come back to my site every time he wants to watch the video? |

Wat about DRM if you want to protect your files and IP ? But if you use DRM, prepare to endure the rage of all your visitors ... if you get any. |

Perhaps look into streaming, also have you looked at using FLash to show the video like Youtube does? |

Yup, just to reiterate what poi said, if you put it on the internet, people will be able to download it, streaming or not. You can even use Flash to show the video, and people will still download it. In fact, I have a nifty freeware program that allows me to rip videos straight from YouTube into quicktime format so I can watch them on my iPod. You can guarantee that no matter what you do, someone out there will find a way around it. |
