Kurt Vonnegut passed away yesterday

quote:
When I think about my own death, I don't console myself with the idea that my descendants and my books and all that will live on. Anybody with any sense knows that the whole solar system will go up like a celluloid collar, by and by. I honestly believe, though, that we are wrong to think that moments go away, never to be seen again. This moment and every moment lasts forever.

I'm sure there are many in our granfalloon that got themselves caught up in his books and stories. He'll surely be missed.

I only recently started reading his books, starting with God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian, then Timequake, and from there I started reading all his novels beginning with Player Piano. I still haven't made my way through too many of them, but I'll get there

Indeeed.
Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse 5, and Breakfast of Champions were integral parts of my highschool years.

this is a bummer to say the least. Like DL-44, those were some of the books that got me started. I read a TON of his books (more than once). Bluebeard was awesome too but Breakfast of Champions has to be my favorite.

He'll be missed for sure.

I was never really a fan, but he sure did leave a literary mark.

Thankfully, his literature did not die with him.

Just finished Mother Nature - one of his best in my opinion - a few similarities with Hocus Pocus, but overall I found it different from many of his other novels. Definitely recommended reading.
