Well, it had to be a topic eventually, and since around here they seem to be taking over the landscape at the moment, let's see some flowers.

Pitcher
Well, it is a flower

This is the latest addition to my growing family of carnivorous plants I can't remember the exact name now but it is a pitcher plant.
I let my Venus flytrap flower this year in the hope of getting some seeds but unfortunately the flowers did not produce any seed. The plant is looking very sorry for itself having put so much energy into flowering.
My Sundew plant is thriving so much that I have divided into a number of plants by root division. In fact I swapped one of them for the pitcher plant.

[doh]I seem to have uploaded the very large version accidentally so link clicker beware, the file size is 1110.47 kB. I'm far too tired now to change it, I'll do that on the morrow[/doh]

It looks very much like it is yawning at the camera. That's an interesting hobby you have there, Tao, and must be a rewarding one - I'd love to see some more photos of your endeavours.

I think I could contribute a few photos of common flowers in front gardens around the area, but nothing so exotic as a carnivorous plant. I shall try all the same - though I may concentrate on finding some errant bumble bees to photograph in the course of their daily labour. I'd love to have a large garden; I'd enjoy cultivating a bumble bee colony so I could watch them during the warmer months, bumbling from flower to flower.

EDIT: Of course, they'd probably be good food for your choice of flora..!

I've only had carnivorous plants for a couple of years now. Since moving into my lovely new flat at the beginning of the year I've had more time and opportunity to grow my own plants.
Here's the Sundew plant doing what it does best, I think I've posted this before under the name Honeydew.

Perhaps a couple of plants actually flowering would be nice too.

T'is certainly a colourful POW this week!

I was dismayed to realise/discover that this isn't a particularly good time/season for flowers in the area - half are waiting to blossom, and half are on their last legs around here.

However, I did take some snaps of various flowers arranged around the Mandarin Oriental in London... dull, I know, but I shall post at least one or two photos later.

Ok, sorry, I am unable to get my stuff posted as I am away for the week - in Fort Lauderdale with my daughter who is competing in the AAU Taekwondo national championships.

I'll add mine later.

In the meantime, I'd like to see Sleepingwolf pick the next topic.

DL: Best of luck, and tell her I'm rooting for her (if she remembers me)! Still waiting for you guys to make it over to the homeland.

As for photos, my digital camera is currently on the fritz, so I'm going to cheat a bit here:

Flowers (and their friends)

Probably the most colorful photos on my site. It's been a while since I've updated that gallery... I should dig around and see if I have any new photos that I haven't put up yet.

I took it as Tao pretending to be Pepe l'pew coming on to Flower, personally.

"Pleese leesten because I shall say zis only once..."

Heh, right on reisio, that was my Pepe impersonation saying 'ello to his petit fleur. I also find myself impersonating in the style of 'Allo 'Allo for some strange comedic reason.
I've just realised that I used the feminine "La" rather than the correct masculine "Le" so I'm guessing that's why hyperbole thought I had mixed up the characters.

Uhh, ... yeah, yeah! That's it. It was the 'La' that confused me

I love 'Allo 'Allo. Haven't seen it in several years, but I think it's a great show.
