You have absolutely no idea what it is like to be caught in the Dell customer service scam. My state-NYS- is curently suing Dell for fraud on many levels. What modem are we talking about? A regular 56k? >Internal Modem: Conexant D850 56K V.9X DFVc If you have a 56k modem - have you turned on the speaker? Does it make the usual dialing and connecting noises? >Well, when I turn on my speakers I believe I remember hearing a dial up sequence. What provider are you using - is the connection to the provider established before you try to visit an url? >Yes, they are a local one called Computer.net. They are Very reliable local guys and have been very reliable in the past and totally checked out their modems in this regard. Thank you Very Much again for you time and thought on this matter.
