Hello fellow inmates,

I've been unsuccessfully looking for work for several months. I actually was able to do one project this summer, and thought I had lined up a couple more in the last couple of months, but they have all fallen through.

I know that a lot of you are designers and I thought if any of you are in need of a back end programmer, I'd mention that I'm available. I realize there are several back end programmers here and you would have a choice, but, if any of you need help with providing dynamic content to a project, I would be interested in talking to you about a job.

If anyone is interested in finding out more about what I can do, please contact me through the Asylum and I will be happy to get more information to you.

But you're only interested in backend stuff these days?

I am interested in both backend and frontend, however, I have much more experience with the backend and it seems to me there are lots of frontend developers around who probably know more than I do about frontend development so I figured I would concentrate mainly on the backend. If a job comes along that requires mainly backend or both, I would be interested, but if the job is mainly very intense frontend development, I would probably recommend someone else for the job. For example, I have pretty indepth knowledge of JavaScript (certainly not to rival po1's or Slime's), but I have not experience with Ajax. If the job required using Ajax, I could probably do it, but I would have a learning curve at the start of the project. Also, while I have worked with CSS for quite a long time, it's been a year of so since I did any intense CSS work, so I'm not up to date on the latest methods used to make it cross-browser compatible.

On the other hand, I have over twenty years experience designing and developing applications and user interfaces. I have designed and developed a number of client/server systems. I have ten years experience with Perl. I have extensive experience with C/C++, Shell Scripting, Systems Administration, and Databases. And, I'm in the process of finishing a medium sized project in PHP.

You will also note that I have a lot of experience in development of scientific, engineering, and graphics applications and in the creation of computer graphics. If anyone here knew of a job in those areas, I would be very interested in it. I had not mentioned my background with those because, this being mainly a group of web developers, I figured there was less possibility of that kind of work being available here.

As a problem solver, I am interested in, and have abilities in a wide range of computing solutions, and I think my experiences in frontend development makes it easier for me to communicate with fronend designers and developers, but my main areas of experience are in the backend where I can complement the work of others.

If I might add, that PHP project hyperbole's been working on is something he's been doing for me for my upcoming site. (That's right, another one!) I can vouch for his expertise. The project is turning out superb and he's been extremely helpful and patient with this non-programmer.

Hire him!
