No, wait, this relationship is starting great instead But I need WEB space, time to publish some stuff.
Hosting is covered.

But domain? I whois'd "www.nav.is", of course, for an "argo.nav.is" sub-domain : turns out that one belongs to some navigation company.
For those who have not yet looked up argo navis : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argo_Navis

So, "argo navis", roughly translated from greek, would mean "the vessel of victory" : for I, as a person,
am the vessel of my personal victories.

"vesselofvictory.com" sounds crappy to me.
"argo.com" is decent enough but taken.
Dont' even get me started on the same ones transposed to .net and .org (besides, they probably are taken).

I have thought about something else, a more "complex" domain name play, involving 4 domain names pointing to the same web space
(the sub constellations of argo navis in .com fashion).

...And that's as far as my imagination goes about the topic : somebody, can you please llend me a piece of your brain for mo' better names?

have you tried simply argonavis.com? how about argonav.is? or perhaps, though less appealing, breaking the word differently - ar.gonav.is or arg.onav.is, etc.

Sounds good, thanks a bunch. In the process of reserving "argonav.is" (doh, never thought about that),
my jaw dropped : .is domains are "virtually very popular" - that is, they make for nice puns (based notably on the english word "is"),
BUT...

ISNIC, the authority for registering those, is a pain in the ass to begin with (pages and pages of conditions, restrictions on who can, who cannot,
administrative contacts MUST be citizens of Iceland, etc.).

AND : who the hell would want to register a domain for the price of 200 dollars?

Plus the .com, .org, .net versions of it are all taken (I love www.argonavis.org btw : a one page website consisting of a dreadful sketch and a linkless banner add).

I wish I would find a way to phrase this advice : I do a LOT of stuff actually. Essentially IT related, but
I've been here and there (last time I checked, DBA for the united nations and SSIS developer, but before that,
I've pretty much touched all areas of IT) - so the way I *integrate* your tip, although it makes a lot of sense, turns into
"youpayido.com" or some other crappy phrasing

I am gonna press my brain cells on this, though : feel free to feed them with an "example" (what is your domain name,
for example, and how does it relate to your activities?)
