In the process of reserving "argonav.is" (doh, never thought about that), my jaw dropped : .is domains are "virtually very popular" - that is, they make for nice puns (based notably on the english word "is"), BUT... ISNIC, the authority for registering those, is a pain in the ass to begin with (pages and pages of conditions, restrictions on who can, who cannot, administrative contacts MUST be citizens of Iceland, etc.). AND : who the hell would want to register a domain for the price of 200 dollars? http://www.isnic.is/payments/tariff.php Plus the .com, .org, .net versions of it are all taken (I love www.argonavis.org btw : a one page website consisting of a dreadful sketch and a linkless banner add). ...Daaaammmm.
