Hi there, it's with great apprehension that I show you my first ever personal website, http://www.alebie.com/

I'd like some sincere criticism on all aspects of the site if you have the time.

So please feel free to rip apart the design, the code, the architecture.

It's not finished, in particular the projects section, I'm still working out how I'd like to display those thumbs.

Cheers,

I like it. Still accessible with JavaScript disabled, though a little broken up. You need to "clear:both" at the bottom of projects, this will keep projects and contact separated when JS is disabled. The section buttons flash when rolled over in IE6.

Apart from what I mentioned, I'm liking the site. Good work!

Could use html { overflow-y: scroll; } or height: 100.1%; to keep the scrollbar from appearing and disappearing in certain browsers.

DESIGN: The header image does not seem to go with anything else on the page. Moving the subtitle, "Portfolio site for Alexander Bienz" into the header image under "Alebie" and duplicating the pattern in the section headers so they look as if they were a part of the header could tie it together better.

Another option would be just to copy the header pattern into a simple footer that extends to the bottom of the window, making 1 block that stands the height of the window instead of one dangling from the top.

WORKING ELEMENTS: Good execution, however, the scrolling forces some elements beyond the lower edge of the browser. You could try a tabbed layout, sliding may seem to gimmicky.

CONTENT: You should expand on the portfolio with information about what you did on each project. You could have been one of fifty designers to have contributed to a project or the sole designer.
