I'm a big Eclipse fan and I'm looking for a nice plugin for HTML/CSS that I can use, that's fairly light weight.

I used to love Aptana, obviously it aims itself towards the JavaScript market amongst other things, but I feel since it's full release it's become bloated and offers more than I need for a straight forward, yet powerful HTML/CSS editor.

I used to use WTP Project for Eclipse, but found it fell just short of the mark, I'm also aware of another plugin called EclipseHTMLPlugin, but I'm wary that some are older than others. I also read once upon a time that there might be a new WTP set of tools coming for Eclipse that would be superior.

Has anyone found another plugin that is worth recommending?

Cheers,

I could recommend some text editors that aren't Java?-based, if you like. Please specify OS(s).

Mac OS X Leopard.

The reason why I want Eclipse based ones, are that I use it for my ActionScript, XML, and SVN, I like having it together in one environment.

However if you have anything you'd love to recommend, then please feel free.

As you're a Linux user and so am I, why not give me a couple of them too.

Hrmmm. Not sure it's quite ready for you yet, but you might keep an eye on Geany.

One could argue Vim is all you need, though, of course.

Textmate. You'll never use another editor again. Includes bundles for pretty much any language or utility (including SVN).

Geany looks pretty nice. I dig the terminal emulation which is why i use Kate. Makes doing Bash and Python a lot easier.

Yeah I like the look of Geany, I'll try it out when I get on my home machine.

I also have Textmate, but as OS X is my work PC and they won't fork out the dough for it I won't because I'll only use it on my work PC and who knows how long I'll be here.

I don't really want this to be a text-editor discussion though, more Eclipse plugins, but I guess there isn't much out there that offers what Aptana does.

Have you tried Scite? It's lightweight, but does alot. I love it.

I know what you mean, Blaise. I really like Aptana but it's becoming quite the hog on my resources and it's very sluggish. This is mainly due to me using a 5 year old machine. I will probably stick with Aptana and just look forward to my upgrade later this year.

ninmonkeys, the link don't work, can you fix please?

It won't let me edit anymore, but hyperbole has the right link.

I'm currently using Scite. ( The text widget controlling code folding, syntax hilighting, etc... is callled Scintilla. ) There are a bunch of editors that use Scintilla: http://scintilla.sourceforge.net/ScintillaRelated.html
