Topic: Your favorite Firefox add-ons?

I just installed Flashblock and started wondering ...

So which Firefox add-ons do you use?

But it's all frankly out of date, if you're into development you need to use Firebug, since I've owned a mac that's pretty much all I use, I dislike the Web Developer toolbar but I'm sure there are advocates of it here.

A great tool for power users is Smart Search It uses your keyword searches to allow you to search any selected text using your context menu in something other than Google, I use this all the time, it's well handy.

Flashblock, Adblock plus, PDF download, The nuke images/anything/plugins extensions. I usually have FireBug, an extract-video-from-flash extension and a mouse gestures extension as well, though not right now. (They were not ff3b5 compatible yet last time I checked.)

I like Web Developer the most, I even donated some money to the guy who made it. My list goes on, but those are my most used favorites.

I use Firebug, Web Developer Toolbar, Back-is-Close, View Source Chart

Ad-Block Plus, No-Script and Flashblock are way up there, as is Colorful Tabs and Tab Mix Plus.

Well I mostly use FF for testing, so FireBug is more or less all I need.

well...i was just meaning that you probably don't use Firefox that much since you work for Opera hehehe.

There was a time that I had about 25 extensions. Firefox was doing so strange stuff so I started removing the ones I didn't really use.

They offered me a job for something I did that only worked in FireFox ;)

To be honest, it took me quite some time to find my way with Opera. It's clear that working for them, meeting people who know it in and out, helped a lot to find out many practical/useful things I wouldn't have had the patience to look for otherwise. Opera has a heck of a lot to do in UI and UX to be more new users friendly.

As a power user I find it annoying that it takes quite a few extensions, that are incompatible with updates of FF, to get the best of it. But there is absolutely no doubt for me that FireFox is a solid, fast and accessible browser.

Actually, there is a way around that in FF.

I have never had an incompatibility problem after updating FF with any of my extensions so far.

I have a whole bunch of add-ons installed, but the ones I actually use the most would probably be (in alphabetical order):

• Copy Plain Text - I copy stuff off the internet into Word for my translation classes, and this is a life-saver there.
• FireFTP - for all those times I just need to do a quick upload
• Flashblock - 'nuf said
• PDF Download - makes the ever-painful PDF experience slightly less painful
• Sage - the only feed reader I need
• Tab Mix Plus - slightly less vital with the newer version of FF, but still has a lot of nifty features
• View Source Chart - makes looking at source a lot easier

FireFTP has lots of features you won't find on standalone FTP packages.

Also: Colorzilla, Nuke Anything, Firebug, Web Dev Tool, Forecast Fox.

The only one I could not live without is Tabbrowser Preferences.
