You guessed it, this month the theme is about : 2001 a space odyssey
Do whatever you want, in ~20 lines of JavaScript, related to this mythical book/movie. It can be anything : static/dynamic, a picture of HAL 9000, something about the monolith, Dave, Jupiter, ... the space ships and stations, bone smashing monkeys, ...
quote:" When we conquer without danger our triumph is without glory. "
And...
" He who laughs last laughs longest ". You seem nervous all alone with your toys
And you seem to feel dumb with your scripts, that's as funny as seeing TP implement things I recommended since the dawn of time.
And doing all that on an ego trip with a lame schedule, like next WE.
Here, with DirectX, XNA or Java and OpenGL, I move Science forward, including medecine and surgery, I please web clients by the dozen, and I make you a promise ...
... not that of a friend : you're of those who disapointed me the most.
I promise that once I'm done sweating to create stations|offices and fill my pocket - and I restrained to offer overpaid positions to the local idiots more than once - once I'm done sweating for "significative" causes, I'll put you back in your girly place in Helsinki ( at the Assembly ) as Aikarele, or simply Argo.
Not for your beetle life. Because I can.
Hope this will be inspiring.
It sure is inspiring. But I doubt that inspires what you expect. Oh well. Take care and see you in Helsinki.
Argo, seriously... trash talk just makes you look bad. Let your actions speak for themselves, and you won't have to waste breath on so many pointless words. Nobody respects a trash talker.
i'm really wondering why this poor little fella keeps coming back to this place again and again. no one here respects him, likes him or is interested in what he has to say. this guy has to bored....despite his tight schedule

Guys, I attempt to stay out of these conversations normally but, as far as I understand it, argo is a very talented coder and, ultimately, that's a large part of what this place is about. Now if you all find you have personality differences with him, you're welcome to them; that is the nature of the internet. But as Blaise says, enough with the 'wasteful retorts'.
[Also for the record, much of argo's attitude is justified AFAICS, especially towards TP]
Now let's see some code! I have exceptionally important exams in 3 weeks, so I'll have to knock mine out a little more quickly than I may normally...but be ready for my June one, it's going to be fearsome
Hitler avait des talents. Il était toujours un tosser.
As Space Odyssey 2001 was one of my favourite books ever (and the film didn't completely suck), I can't help but hope the use of that title inspires something wonderful.
I've got some microwave popcorn if anyone wants any. No open flame allowed, apparently.
The last time I tried any sort of coding was way back when I had a cast-off C-16 (not even a 64) and I couldn't beat Mr. Puniverse. Starting with BASIC in a bid to hack a game was probably not the best start, and I eventually lost interest in coding with various half-hearted attempts at assembly on an Atari 520STFM.
Perhaps it's about time I did something more than blast Strogg and troll forums.
Okay - time for me to learn something!
(EDIT: I doubt very much I'll learn quickly enough to do anything interesting in this thread...)
It's really not finished yet and IE doesn't like it, but I'm quite busy... Maybe I'll still get to it tonight, otherwise I'll do some stuff tomorrow.
Cheers
How about moving the deadline by one day ? After all the 1st of June is Sunday so having the entire WE to polish your entry and maybe see other persons come in can't really be a bad thing.
So, fixed some minor stuff, still 6 lines, IE-friendly, the stargate background looks a lot more friendly now. I barely toughed HALs brain, though. Although that can easily be improved in the future. I believe I've spent too much time in extracting all the audio clips that I lost track of it...
