As is often the case, I was perusing the internet archive, looking at old sites I used to frequent when I was fresh out of college, and happened to wander back here out of curiosity. It's nice to see some of the same old names still posting, things still seem to be going strong, etc, etc. I was happy to see my ***Big Sig Approaching*** was still about and seeing use. And I even managed to remember my password.

What do you know.

So, I thought I'd post a hello. I'm back in the creative industry for the first time since I left Adobe, been working QA and development in the digital section of an experiential marketing firm in Boston for a little over two years now. Married 2.5 years ago, had a little girl 17 months ago, and am trying to enjoy life and pay off all the bills.

If my name rings a bell, please tell me how you're doing, what's up, etc. I'm very curious to see how the years have treated you all.

I just realized that by a strange coincidence, tomorrow will be the 8th anniversary of my registering for the forums.

Welcome back Human Shield.
It's good to hear that you are doing well.

Thanks for the link, NoJive. It'll take me a while to read through all that, but fortunately I've got the weekend coming up.

Hi WS and Tao, too.

Hey Skarjj, things have been good. About two years ago, I became bored testing medical software, so with some encouragement from my wife I went applying for another job, and ended up finding one in Boston (instead of the metro area) for a marketing firm. It was still Quality Assurance, but the nice things about it were:

1. The projects were constantly new or changing, so I never become bored testing the same thing over and over again...
2. It's web and flash design stuff, so it's kinda like working for Adobe again...
3. The company's never had QA before, so I'm basically building the department. Everything they make goes through me before it gets handed off. Good job security when they can't imagine going back to not having any QA, and eventually, if we become successful enough to warrant it, they'll hire more QA, and I will move into a managerial position...
4. I get to do some work in development as well, which has helped me improve/gain skills in HTML, XML, SQL, Flex, Flash, etc.

It's really a lot of fun again, and I'm grateful to have a job I enjoy once again.

My past times nowadays are taking photos of my little girl or resting from playing with her/working. Winding down in the evening is watching tv or playing Teamfortress 2 / GTA IV.
