I need to show this led finger light with a white background. But the light needs to be on and show a little color on that white background. If I just use a brush and white out some area around the light hitting the table then it does not look very good. I want to make a great looking photo to put on the front of this website. I would appreciate any help at all. There is a photo now on the front of this website www.lducompany.com of the finger light but they want me to change it to have a white back ground but show the color light. Thank you.

I'm guessing that this is more of a Photoshop question, no? I'll move the thread there.

Perhaps you could link to the actual item so we can see what you have to work with?

I would think the easiest thing overall would be to shoot a new photo. If that's not an option, then how to proceed will depend a lot on what's going on in the photo you have...

Is it not just link back spam?

Forgive my cynicism.

I did consider the possibility that this was spam, but I figured I would give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I think if there is no reply for another day or so, we can probably safely conclude that it is spam.

CPrompt: he meant the picture above link called "LED Lights" ... the one with colorful background and 4 weird-looking flashlights

I don't think it's spam tho :S ... maybe he just googled for a photography/photoshop forum, posted the question and then forgot the address to this place ...

I agree with DL-44 tho ... he should shoot a better quality picture first, but I also suggest that he should light the white background from the back so it looks whiter. So laker: if you're still here and you possess the finger lights so you can shoot a new photo do this: find a thin white plastic sheet, mount in on something and light it from the back so the white light shines through, place the flashlights on it and shoot a new photo. If you can't do that then you need to hand-trace a selection around the flashlights really carefully, create a new layer and paint it white, then then try to tweak it with opacity settings and with a soft eraser brush or create new completely artificial glows with a brush ... which would probably look a little crappy ... at least this is what I would try.

That said I think the current picture is fine except for the small gray area behind the flashlights ...

I think this is the image in question:

Seems to me to easiest way would be a simple mask, get your mouse out and do some dirty work style.

Actually if it is that image I'm not bothered helping this potential spam, why the hell would someone want and a big LED strapped to their finger? So to solve your problem of inconsistent backgrounds just remove finger lights from the collection of junk you peddle.

Changed my mind and had a few min to spare:

I guess if we see this on the site we'll know if he ever came back
