For one reason or another I've been unable to play Savage 2 for well over six month now. Recently I've moved flat and now have an internet connection that may allow me to play this game again. I've heard there have been a few changes to the game and there is also something called "Heroes of Newerth - Beta" which I am being tempted to download.
Does anyone here still play this game? If so what are your thoughts and what is Heroes of Newerth exactly?

It looks like I'm going to get a couple of invites to give away for Heroes of Newerth Beta testing too. Apparently it is similar to WoW.

Well the rush really knocked me over there.
I'm just adding this link that I've found where you can apply for a Beta Key for the game.

Steady now...No running in the corridors.

I am currently pre-occupied with Bioware's new Dragon's Age : Origins.

It is just...well, awesome comes up short.

I can't really comment on Heroes of Newerth as I've had problems running it in Ubunty Karmic Koala. It did not help that I failed to check the md5sum for the first day or so. SO now that I've DL'ed a robust version, I can't get it to load a game from any server. Suppose that's why it's Beta, still should work.

Just looked at the trailer for Dragon's Age WebShamen It looks bloody brilliant, literally. Do you do your gaming on a PC? I do, though I've not played anything that's really intrigued me for a while. Fallout 3 was good and The Witcher OK. I've not really played much this year.

Every now and again, I'm pleasantly surprised to discover that these hallow halls are home to fellow gamers. Okay, so perhaps you don't all go out of your way to find time for a little pixel-bashing, but there are a number of inmates who find at least one game, once in a while, takes them on a voyage they can barely tear themselves away from... and I love it!

No longer simply the reserve of a mis-spent youth, but the past-time of a mis-spent adulthood (in some ways), video games have become an acceptable thing for grown men and women to partake of. In other words, the fact that otherwise mature and intelligent people such as yourselves share a love of games (to any degree) means that I may enjoy my gaming addiction without shame or fear of judgement. lol

...but sorry, Tao, I have no experience of those first games you mention. I tend to steer away from RPGs as I fear I would become dangerously hooked!

I played Fallout 3 recently; I got a bit bored after a while, though it is pretty impressive. Dragon Age looks fantastic - I could be tempted...
