I'm not sure the use of section & footer elements and closing empty elements XHTML-style really makes this an "HTML5 comic". I mean I'm glad tourists have a name to latch on to, but there isn't really any particularly new technology being used here.

Still think a web comic site should consist of relevant page(s) at full height of viewport (or width in unlikely event that's the larger dimension, possibly with a small nav bar above or below) and next/previous buttons only.

I guess it's the 'HTML5 is the new AJAX' version of HTML5, not the technical term HTML5, still it's all relative to who you're having the conversation with I suppose.
