SO, in an attempt to make my videos more watchable I got myself Premier Pro and After Effects. After a month of staring blankly at the interface of both programmes I followed a few tuts on the Videocopiliot website and produced my first After Effects video.
I have it on my You Tube channel here. Apart from having great fun I now realise that perhaps I need a bigger video camera, this one, a Panasonic, is about the size of a packet of cigarettes and hard to control without getting the dreaded camera shake, but we work with what we got right?

Adobe have me in the palm of their multimedia hand

I'm now working on integrating Photoshop with After Effects. Now that should produce SOME sig

Well the shaky cam works well with that effect

Do you ever get the chance to use a tripod?

Thanks Blaise. Actually that is just a photograph that I've added the "vortex" effect to, part of that effect was to give it camera shake. Ha, it is a bit odd that the first piece I create involves the very thing I was trying to eliminate
I have a little Gorilla Pod for the video camera which I'm starting to use a lot more, it's just a case of planning your shot to try to get the best quality I'm learning.

These tutorials were just what I was looking for. I knew aftereffects was impressive, but this just blows me away.

Me too Mahjqa, I feel the same way as I did years ago when I first visited the Asylum asking questions about Photoshop. I posted on the Copilot forum just to say hello and I was directed to more learning resources see here I go by the name of TaoBoogie there as they don't allow three letter names.

Funny Tao, I've been using Motion for quite a while then I stumbled across VideoCopilot and I upgraded to CS5 just to get the AE bundle and started playing with it. amazing and inspiring stuff on VCP. I personally use a Canon XL2 and a Panasonic DVX100, both look awesome but I think it's time to upgrade to Hd. Makes a world of difference!
