You'll hear me rant a lot about "highly scalable web applications". They way I see it, web apps are becoming full-featured apps, Javascript is likely to become a prominent development tool (as well as HTML and CSS) on both the server (NodeJS anyone?) and the client.

Good.

Now, these guidelines, in such days and times, are absolutely priceless for performance tuning of PHP / MySQL on both Apache and IIS.
