A few weeks ago I recorded Tron on DVR. I assume that it was being played on premium movies because of Tron Legacy. Last week Girlie #1 wanted to watch it. So we did. We watched the whole thing and it was engrossing. I explained various things about the movie at it was great.

One thing that I hadn't caught before about Tron was the use of the word conscript. I was laughing pretty good at that one.

A girl that I work with bought Tron Legacy. She loaned me her DVD. I had watched it by myself and I was disappointed. Too many questions and other things that just plain didn't make sense.

So, I told Girlie #1 that I had a DVD copy of Tron Legacy on loan. We started watching it. We got halfway through it and she gave up. She literally got up and walked away.

Just two days ago I started watching Beavis and Butthead Do America. Girlie #1 got sucked in big time.

She loved Beavis and Butthead Do America and couldn't finish Tron Legacy.
I was proud. I was *very* proud.

I'm still pissed.

Last night I sat down and wrote-out my frustration over Legacy for a good half-an-hour. But my thoughts were too scattered and malformed, and I deleted it. A great deal of it is difficult to put into words.

However, one thing that is easy is the light cycle scene. I think it is great that they added ramps and such. I also think it was great that Sam was a motorcycler and took so well to it. But I didn't like the fact that there was no sense of fore-thought to it. I mean, the track seemed endless with only newer-ish light trails to run into. There was no boxing in and things like that. No mazes before things got serious. There was no sense of fore-thought in strategy that took advantage of persistance light trails.

'Naw mean?

Yeah I thought it was cool, but...then again I saw it in 3D. That doesn't make it a good movie, that just makes it a 3D movie.

Usually movies that are in 3D are cool simply because they're in 3D, if they weren't they'd be just another boring movie with little plot.

Now a movie that's in 3D and has a plot comparable to say...Empire Strikes back, now that'd be cool!

Tron Legacy has Daft Punk.
Tron Legacy is shiny.
Tron Legacy has Jeff Bridges and Olivia Wilde.

To me, these things alone make it worthwhile. Especially the Daft Punk.
