Good example of a program are the GNU software collection, Office suites, bundles, IDEs. Good example of an app is hard to find. I can't come across any that are stand-alone aside from Photoshop being in CS. So, programs intermix with each other while apps just serve one function. Gimp is an example of a stand-alone... so is Inkscape. Do any of you know any stand-alone apps that is quite useful for day to day production?
