Wow it’s as if they’re documenting my teenage years as though they were ancient history.

14.4 modems! The web! Newsgroups! They should be reporting on Doc instead.

Yes indeed. There's a whole lot of interesting 'stuff' in there and the Doc's work certainly stands up.

I actually quite enjoyed the article, though at times it felt as if they were describing an alternate reality - one I don't remember. https://superbad.com/ looks interesting, but I can't say I spent much time there. They completely left off the bits about 300 and 1200 baud modems! As if the network didn't exist until 14.4. =/ I look back super-fondly on my old 128K ISDN line, with a latency so close to zero I couldn't reliably measure it. Good times. =)
