It's a knd of tradition around the place. After certain post counts are reached, the inmates start celebrating. Back in the old days (read:when I joined and there were a scant 100 or so members), it was a big celebration to reach your one hundredth post, and it still is. We celebrate at:
100
300
500
1000
1500
2000
2500
3000
etc...etc. You get the picture.
There are a few other post counts that we celebrate.
666 - The evil post
1024 - The mega-post
2048 - The two meg. post
They're milstones in your time at the asylum, so, when you hity one of those post counts. Don't forget to drop a message into the ozones forum and let us all know!

I very well could be wrong, but wouldn't 1024 be a "kilo-post?" Being that a kilobyte = 2^10 = 1024.
A "mega-post" would then be 2^20 = 1,048,576. And if anyone ever gets up to this "mega-post," the rest of us will all know that they spend waaaaaaaaaaay too much time here

Skaarjj: Well, I look at it like this. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, so a post is worth a thousand words two, since a post is made up of hte same stuff a digital picture is, pixels lighting up on your screen. Now, being a digital realm, that thousand words translates into one thousand and twenty-four words, and the words turn into bytes. SO, one post is worth one thousand and twenty-four bytes, or one kilobyte.
Therefore, when you reach one thousand and twenty-four posts, ou've reached one thousand and twenty-four kilobytes, or, one megabyte.
