I guess a lot of things change over a very short period of time. I am now 21 years old, still a college student, and still a member of the asylum. It is fast coming up on 3 years that I have been visiting this place. This is one of the three sites I visit every day. The other ones are Slash Dot and Google. I recommend checking out those sites.
I have been creating web pages since I was 11 years old, which makes it around 10 years that I have been involved in web design. But I only feel that the 3 most recent years count. Those are the years I have been here. The people here have not simply taught me a number of skills, but have taught me how to think about art, and about code.
Since coming here I have learned about Web Standards, Standards Compliance, and a slew of different technologies from CSS to XML. I have become a better artist and a better programmer as a whole.
At school I work to become a Programmer. I study all of those languages that make applications, and I hope to get myself into an industry where I can either do web design or web development, or make applications that will further the goals of Standards Compliance and Open Source.
