Try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Files but also try this tip from krets:
quote:I was reading through the latest copy of PC World and found this trick to speed up IE. I've been surfing around some of my favorite sites and I can really notice a difference. The trick lets IE establish more connections with a server (as long as the server hasn't blocked more than 2 connections) to get data faster.
Here we go.
1. Open regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Internet Settings
3. You're looking for two keys: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and MaxConnectionsPerServer
4. The default for MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server is 4 but can be set as high as 20.
5. For MaxConnectionsPerServer the default is 2 but you can go as high as 10.
(I've got mine at 20 and 8)
If you can't find those you have to create them.
1. Right-click in the right pane and select New > DWORD.
2. Do that twice and create the necessary keys then modify the values.
As with all registry editing if you don't know what you're doing, be careful! You might even want to create a copy of your reg just in case. http://find.pcworld.com/30974 has an article on doing just that.
