I'm going to assume Emps meant Phineas Fogg, which would lead me to believe that he is referring to the protagonist of Jules Verne's "Around the World in 80 Days," thus implying that krets is an accomplished world traveler. Either that or he is an anal retentive chap who makes outrageous wagers. Not sure which. |

Emps: Interesting... I was sure it was Phineas. After examining some of the results from Google ("Around the world in 80 days" + Phineas / "Around the world in 80 days" + Phileas), it appears that Phineas may have been the name of the character in the movie version, while Phileas may have been the original name in the novel. It's been so long since I've read the book that I'll be darned if I can remember which is which. I could dig further to find out the truth, but I'm just not sufficiently motivated. |

Holy crap, this forum exploded since I last looked. Emperor was right. I was imspired by krets thread. I live in Grapevine Texas. And holy crap the heavens dumped some ice last night. I was up till 1:00 AM in the morning searching out streets with big hills to slide down in my rubermaid storage bin(Yeah that sounds kinda wierd, but it was fun). Ive only lived here five years, but ive never scene so much ice on the ground. |

Wowzers did it again. You cant go sliding down streets in plastic bins without the thread exploding again. But yes, I live in Texas and was wondering if anyone wanted to get together some time or something of the sorts. I live in Grapevine, which Im sure anyone in Texas knows where it is. Unfortunately TX is huge, so as far as me being there is concerned there would have to be some people in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Oh, and yeah I do thrive on mystery. I thought yall would get the idea when I said I stole krets thread idea, but I hope this makes things clear, peace. |

Sorry, I didnt intend on all the fun. Its just that I live in the metroplex here and ive never seen this much ice/snow all over the place and there are these rubermaid plastic bins(fairly large) and some streets on big hills, and yeah ive been outside quite a bit. Im quite soar now. After smacking into curbs, then continueing to roll on the curb, and hitting a stop sign, im in some pain. It hurts to rotate my shoulder. Pain just shoots down my back. Big fun though. I would recomend sliding down city streets in big plastic bins to anyone. Just wear a leather jacket, cause when you are rolling/flipping along a curb you want some protection from the concrete and ice. And other materials will most likely rip. |

WS: If I can get bagels here in Korea, I guarantee that you'll be able to find them somewhere in Germany (although, granted, maybe not in your neighborhood). It is quite a pain in the neck to get what you want sometimes, though. I've been wanting to make manicotti for the past year or so, but I haven't gotten around to getting the ingredients yet... |
