The strange thing about this is it has worked before and suddenly it says the speed is too fast. It is currently set at 16X and is ran under WinXP Home Edition. The specs are: |

Luxo, does like, someone mess around on your computer when you are not there? You have more computer problems in the short time of a month, than I do in a year...who, or what, is messin' with your computer, dude? |

sorry if this seems like a stupid question....but did you set the speed slower and try it??? and....here's another stupid one.....is the cd the right speed for what you're trying to do??? and last stupid question....did you read the manual that came with it and/or hop on the benQ's website??? |

Well BUGGER! What do you know.....her CD writable drive is f***ed again. A CD was burnt successfully by me after I fixed it last week but since then it doesnt work nor does it work through Media Player. |

well, about 6 weeks after i got this computer i had to have the cdrw replaced. it's a benQ. since i got the new one, it's worked just fine. it even took a nasty tumble down a flight of stairs (no i didn't throw it down the stairs). my folks also got the same computer i did, at the same time i did and just 2 weeks ago had to have their benQ replaced. so, from my experience, it seems to be a problem with shotty equipment. |

luxo, sounds like its a connection problem or driver problem with the cd-r drive itself. if the computer can't see at all it would indicate its not connected. |

FYI... If you use roxio E-Z CD creator 5 with win XP, chances are, you will have serious problems... unless you get the software update. |
