Though I do not know you well, I hope your birthday is and will be a merry one.

Soon we're all going to start calling you Ol' Gaffer or Grandpa and you can tell us stories down fireside and we will then proceed to place you in a retirement home, because we KNOW you love mashed potatoes and liquified food.

Ah, I'm touched. But then again, I've always been a little touched.

Thanks for the birthday wishes all--I had a good time celebrating last night with my friend Guinness (and a new-found friend from Belgium named Hoegaarden). Waking up today was not so good, but I guess that's the price I'm going to have to pay now that I'm an old man.

As for still being a student, well, it helps when you're a doctoral student, eh?

I put some thoughts on turning 30 up on my website. You young uns can all go marvel at my wisdom, and you old fogeys can go laugh at the delusions of this whippersnapper.

Petskull: Thanks, man. Anything I can do to bring some smiles to the faces of the inmates...

DL: Exactly. Of course, I don't have a yard yet, but I will when we move this summer. And the most beautiful thing is that they actually sell it at the convenience store down the street!

Thanks, Jestah. It took us long enough to get around to Q'ing, didn't it? Glad to have finally "made your acquaintance," though.

bodhi: And let's hope that's an awful lot of Guinness... I figure I'm still in my "early afternoon years."
