Topic awaiting preservation: ie6/rollover issues...

Ever since I upgraded to 6.0, I have had a slight issue with rollovers - no matter what page, if it has rollovers, there is a slight lag - about a second maybe. I know it sounds very trivial, but it has gotten to the point where it is *really* annoying. I have to hover over the item to see if there is a rollover...

It's not an issue of the load time, as I can view the rollovers instantly with other browsers, and on other machines with other versions of ie.

Anyone else had this problem, or have an idea as to why this might be happening?

Dl I have the same problem with ie 6 on win2k pro, really gets messy when multistate rollovers or multiple rollovers are tied into one mouseover event....

Yeah, sometimes takes a moment to realize that it wasn't the web page that was screwed up....

Anyone?

mhmm i got the problem a while ago. (but only on pages i have visited before, so this solution might only work on these pages, if it even works)

try to delete your temporary internet files (not the cookies)

DL, check your settings for temporary Internet Files (Tools>>Internet Options >> Temp files>> settings) see what that is set too. If you have it set too high then IE will not cache images forcing a download of the over state on every rollover. I keep my browser this way but if you're on dial-up this may be a pain

I clear my cache all the time, and my storage limit for temporary internet files is set as low as possible. Always have...but this issue has only been happening since the "upgrade".

It happens whether it is a site I've been to or not....

I'm on cable, so no issue son d/l time (and this takes about the same amount of time whether we're talking a 500 byte image or a 20k image...).

Go to Tools>>Internet Options >> Temp files>> settings again and see if the first radio there is marked. If it is then IE will not cache images forcing a download of the over state on every rollover (took that from bd :])
