Topic awaiting preservation: Total frustration.... (Page 1 of 1)

Doesn't it really suck when you have a website, you switch service providers and now you cannot access your site that hosts your webpage. I have a consulting firm that I did some work for and in payment the gentleman let me have space on his server for my site. Since then, I had changed service providers from earthlink to Comcast for the cable modem. Now I cannot go onto my site, view my site or even get onto my clients consulting firm website. Anyone that I have talked with that has Comcast cannot get on his site. Yet with any other provider, it works fine. This is a real problem, because I cannot get on my portfolio site to update it.

Can anyone help here? If anyone has Comcast as an internet provider can you check to see if my site works for you http://www.postebox.com/andrea

Comcast is a internet service provider. Competition to Roadrunner internet services.

i've tried several times in the past to visit your sight and couldn't connect
also cannot see your sigs here
never thought much about it except maybe your server was down
just tried again with no luck--then tried through a proxy and it came through--no problem
i'm on cable modem
maybe something to do with it?

For now, you can add the site's IP address to your HOSTS file. Doesn't solve the problem for the rest of Comcast, but it'll get *you* there. It's a plain text file, edit in Notepad or equivalent.

Insert this line:
66.47.191.84 www.postebox.com

The file named hosts (no extension) is located in:

for Win 9x/Me: c:\windows\
for Win NT/2K/XP: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\

My ISP is Comcast, and I can view your page with no problem. Maybe all that means is that they have not screwed-up their Seattle service.

For what it's worth, I've got Comcast in Augusta, GA, and it resolves just fine for me, too.

um... one other little problem.... I am on a mac computer with os 9.1. The guys server is up and running fine.

OS-X , the only way to go.....

booting into OS 9 is almost painful.

Comcast from Seattle has no problem with your site.

im on RR Austin and i can't view your site, and i also have been having problems viewing your sigs.. most times they are red X but sometimes they come up fine..
