I have decided to toss Windows for MAC, and will probably spend a bunch more money than I'd like to, but I think it's worth it. I'm goofin' around with Linux at the moment, Mandrake, really cool.

AppleScript - a little. Enough to know it's potent stuff, largely overlooked by even long-time mac users, and worthy of more attention than I have given it. AppleScript was pretty mature under pre-OS X; the new OS is working hard to achieve the same level of scriptability. Truly astounding things can be done. It's pretty widely used in the publishing industry - for instance, and appleScript can take a whole print article, pictures and text, and save it to a web site - converting a Quark fle to plain text, high res CMYK images to 72 dpi rgb, even ftp to a directory, all automatically. Woo. If I ever need to do the same thing twice, AppleScript would rock.

It's so much better than any of the scripting technologies used in MS Windows simply because of the widespread and very tight integration of various applications that support it. However, my biggest problem with Macs is my 14 years of PC/MS experience. I still don't quite understand how a Mac ticks if you know what I mean. Anyways, I seem to have most of my issues Ironed out. But like most computer related things, the more time you spend with them, the more you understand. It's just a pity I don't have a Mac to play around with at home. On the up side, after getting quite fresh with Director I've decided to push aside my hatred of Macromedia and Flash so I've decided to learn how to use it. Your GN tutorials have come in quite handy recently. Thanks.
