Just out of curiousity, where is it you get the majority of your news. I don't want to limit this to either local or computer news either. Whatever news you get, where do you find it?

Personally, I use Drudge Report, NY Times, and the Wall Street Journal Online. I check out Slashdot every now and then, not as much as I used to.

One of my source is another forum. From time to time, someone will post a link to a story from the above already mentioned.

One of my favorite sources is The Daily Show. If I'm going to be hearing bad news, might as well be with a twist. (Lewis Black is my hero.)

Google news...it has a lot of different websources
AlterNet - an alternative news source, sometimes abit...liberal, at times.
Memri - translated news (into english) from various middle-east sources.

I'm sure we've done this one before.

Anyway I use the online versions of the BBC and the Guardian largely as that is what I watch and read. I have found the Google News feature to be very useful if I am trying to track down a news item I only heard in passing or something.

[edit: Oh and The Fortean Times for weird stuff]

I don't really just look for news. But there's a couple of places I like to go that aggregate a bunch of links to stories
http://www.fark.com
http://www.metafilter.com
http://www.memepool.com
http://www.zfilter.com
http://www.linkswarm.com
http://www.obscurestore.com
http://www.slashdot.org

Most of these aren't going to link to true news the way a cnn or msnbc will but the links on these pages tend to be more fun.

On the web - I get my news from http://www.ozoneasylum.com ! You guys spend much more time combing out the most interesting bits than I have on my hands...

In the real world, I do watch my local news before work in the mornings... Fox 8 for those in the area... and we do a round of the cable news channels (CNN, Fox News, MSNBC... hell - I don't even know the names of most of them...). And on occasion, we run to the corner and get a good, old fashioned newspaper... mostly for the comics and the classifieds, but once you have it, you may as well read the rest of it!
