Just wondering if anyone plays/watches this sport. I have not played in 6 years and I miss it so was thinking about joining local club. I grew up playing soccer and american football and played rugby in College.

Any other ruggers out there?

Hi, mate! I quite like watching rugby.
New Zealand is very famous for it, isn't it?
Do you know all blacks? National team always wear black gergy with silver fern.
We lost last weekend against England.
A lot of people were guttered.
Me too, actually even though I didn't watch.
I am doing a lot of assinment now.
Pity not be able to watch it.
cya.

I played prop for 8-years from high school to college. I usually played to keep in shape for football(American) during the off-season. I played linebacker in football.

hiroki:
i agree to ya, all blacks are good rugby team.
I watched them play against the wallabies [Australian rugby team] one time and i'd say that they are tough to beat and i like their black uniform.

And that intimidating "dance" they do before the match ain't too shabby either. I know I'd be off running in the other direction as fast as possible...

I used to watch rugby when I was in England, and sometimes they show it on Star Sports here, but I don't get that much chance to watch television during the day anymore...

I play rugby in St. Louis. I've played hooker since I was in HS, played at Truman St. University in Missouri. When I came back from college I started up a high school club in St. Louis and have been coaching that and playing for a men's club here ever since.
I was playing for a men's club here in town, then blew out my knee early in this past spring season. I'll still coach, but I don't know if I'll go back and play. I think that knee might be my sign I'm getting a little old for that game. =)

I played locke first semester freshman in college, 2nd semester I played fullback, sophomore/junior years I played 8man, first semester senior year I played inside, and finally last semeter I played 8-man. My favorite? 8-Man. But I would like to also play flanker and give my ears a break

cool- I guess with members around the world- good chance of ruggers in the asylum. I am 29, a bit out of shape, but I miss playing- the camaraderie and competition. I have not yet decided what to do . . . NYC Division 1 rugby is pretty competitive. 6 teams on Manhattan alone. Some boast 3 sides.

BTW USA is getting better each year in the world rankings

I watch it sometimes when it's on. Though in my part of the woods, they don't air it often. It's amazing to watch those guys actually kick to ball to each other. Don't know the rules to it but it's cool to watch.

yeah- its an amazing sport that forces you to become a well-rounded athlete. passing, tackling, running, kicking, catching, endurance . . . passion. Changed the way I view all sports now - especially amaerican football.

Yeah, I like to watch rugby sometimes... Furthermore, France has a rather good team, so it's interesting.

Sometimes I am even proud of them, when they play well they beat every team (though lately they have been more than bad...).

There is a little revalry between France and England in rugby, it's funny to witness the patriotic feelings raised for such occasions, and the friendly "On va leur montrer à ces rosbeefs ce qu'on vaut !" ("we'll show to those rosbeefs what we are worth")

Ya.. nice sport. Kind of rough, but I like it.

THIS is a sport, not like the monkey contest called football

It is an all-round good exercise, even though after playing a season of rugby I usually found I would have to bulk-up again to play football. Football requires less endurance and more power than rugby.
