Oh, happy freakin day.

Yup this has been a good Canada Day. I went down to the Osborne Street Festival here in Winnipeg and then to see T-3 in the theater. It a good movie but I probaly won't stay up to see the fireworks since I have to get up at 6:00 for school tomorrow.

But all in all a fairly nice day.

I went to the fireworks tonight and they were pretty neat. It was almast as neat watching the fireworks reflecting in the river as watching them in the sky.

And just when you think there done with the fireworks somebody else starts setting them off. Luckly I could watch these oners from my balcony so I didn't have to go far.

Weird Al did one of his "AL TV" hours on VH1 recently to promote his new album, Poodle Hat. In it, he "interviews" a number of celebrities (splicing his own questions to their answers at an actual interview), including Avril Levigne (sp?). Al loves the way she says, 'aboot' and 'hoose'. Later, he interviews Celine Dion, and she does the same thing.

He also does a song in Bob Dylan's style with lyrics made up of nothing but palindromes (reading the same backwards and forwards, eg. 'madam I'm adam'). Good stuff.

Geez, you guys seem awfully quiet for it being Special Administrative Region Establishment Day! Where are the parties? Where are the parades? Where are the oversized balloons depicting Gorto, Spirit of Efficient Filing Practices?

Makes me wonder Canadian's self esteem that need a day for themselves ;P
