Topic awaiting preservation: MSIE default cache setting (Page 1 of 1)

just a quick one.. what is the default setting for MSIE's cache checking option? check for new files every time you start explorer, every visit to page, automatically, or never??

Default settings is "automatically", but sometimes IE can go nuts and stop caching web pages. In that case, it's best to flush temporary internet files and IE will start working fine again...

thanks thats what I figured...

would be nice if by default it would check for newer versions of files on the server unless they were jpg or gif. .. so it wouldn't slow rollovers down, but you wouldn't have to hit refresh on forums and dynamic sites.. oh well
