Today, at work, our graphic desinger boots up her mac. For a moment, the screen appears normal, then decides to go black and white, and inverted at that. Well, not even black and white, 256 colours althogh, only came up as black and white.

Anywho, change it back to millions of colours, and a nice array of colours pop onto the screen, however.. they are all inverted?!

no ammount of logical 'fiddling' around seemed to correct the problem. So, out of fusturation (I am not a mac user, and starting to rather dislike them) .. I held down ctrl-option-otherwierdbutton and hit random keys untill it seemingly fixed itself.

The combo which solved the problem was 3keycombo-8

... huh?

Is it supposed to do that? what could of caused it to do that in the first place? ... and is there an other more 'logical' way of fixing that problem?

Logging in as other users on the mac was fine, no wierdness, just her account ..

I'm not in OS X mode right now, but off the top of my head;

Check the "Universal Access" tab in your system preferences, you should find an option that inverts colors. Uncheck it.

Don't ask me why. My guess was, there are some people out there with some weird disease that makes them see computer screens really fucked up, so.. eh, whatever.

I would say, someone pressed that combo and logged off.

Btw: Press Shift and the minimize button

(I double checked in OS X.. in Universal Access there is a "white on black"/"black on white" option that messes the colors up. not sure if that's what it is or not, but...just my guess..?)

[edit: and there is a settable key-combo to turn it on or off.. mine is something like command-shift-option-i or something totally weird like that]
