You'll get used to it, we all do. In fact, anyone who's been here longer than a week will tell you the scheme is soothing to the eyes, and that sites with white backgrounds and black text should be forbidden.

And I am always amused when people say they can't deal with the colour scheme - I'm not sure if it is the pills, the electro-shock batons or our eyes adjusting to the eternal gloom in the halls but it seems just right..........

This forum has indeed a problem. Not this forum, but the software it uses, UBB, that I don't know if it's configurable or not (probably is).
You just can't change the size of the fonts, it's fixed, and this is very bad CSS design decision. I think some browsers, like Opera, can deal with this problem, but since 95% of the general public uses IE, this is a problem because IE can't deal with it.
Smart madsci's, do something... and then if someone complains about the color scheme, just say: "make the font bigger and you may have a workaround".
Or, you could just add an alternative CSS.
Or you could just do nothing and to hell with the finicky new visitors...

Well maybe it is time for a trip to the ole Doc to get the eyes checked !

That's interesting.

Before i reduced the incrdibly high contrast in mah screen, i always thought it was black. =P

Actually I have a tougher time reading white text on a black background. These colors here are much easier on the eyes.

sometimes I figure it would be nice if the Asylum had more features like phpBB or something, but I always come around and realize that its great just the way it is (maybe the meds help) - fast dl'ing and simple.

I didn't really like the font here either when I started but it grows on you. Now I think the other forums have wierd colors. You just need to give it some time .
