There is a program that I found called Proxomitron that will allow you to do that. Search Google to find it. The program has some other interesting features and it is free.

Not to be a party pooper but doesn't this verge on things the Asylum doesn't associate with? I suppose this could be construed as operational experience to protect yourself from people that know how to do this... I dunno. It seems unfitting to be praising this kind of action here.

No Offense, Alevice. In fact when this was posted once before I palyed it and enjoyed it. I'm unsure where the twinge of conscience comes from.

Very true actually...this is one of the things the Doc decreed should't go on here...

But then again, we haven't actually broken that decree yet, becuase we aren't discussing the methods used to hack the site, the site is simply there (plus the site itself tells you to hack it)

There isn't a way to modify it because the browser always sends the referer as part of its http request. However, if you make the request yourself (telnet), you can set the referer to anything you want. If you're on Windows, try "telnet www.hulla-balloo.com 80"

BTw, I didn't write the above, I'm not that computer literate. I showed my husband this thread so now he's doing the challenge. That's his advice.

Amerasu, there is a way to modify the referrer header. The program I mentioned above does that. It is basically a proxy that changes the header info.

Yea I got that much, but what do I do after that? *sigh* I'm just not cut out to be a hacker .

What is the point in asking for help? I'm sure if you are a good googlegeek you can hack to level 12. But what does that prove.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off here being new like I am, but I dont think that asking someone to give you the answers is what the site administrator had in mind when he went to all the trouble to write the thing.

BTW googling for "hack this site" is what brought me here, hehehe so I'm searching for help too but I'm way beyond level5. I wont even tell you cause it would only make you cry! And I would never post a request for help.

There is a reason for Level2 "The idiot challenge". Please do not tell the idiots how to get to level 2!!!!! You only encourage them. Its bad to encourage idiots. It's good to encourage smart people, but it is bad to incourage idiots, especially idiots with computers.

So far I don't think we've encouraged any idiots. Please don't come aorund here calling our members idiots, we really don't appreciate it.

Oh yeah! You were the one stuck on the "the idiot test." I'm really sorry to hear that but, I didn't name level one the "the idiot test." I do think it was appropriately named, hehehe. Don't you just love meeting new people and making new friends.
