kat: Check how your browser deals with cookies and/or see if you have anything that tidies away old cookies. If that doesn't work check the preferences to see if it sets a cookie when you login:

However, it never seems to log me in properly and I think little glitches like this will have to be lived with until we get the New Asylum

I'm not sure I understand your concern, kat. For what reason do you want to log in? The only reason to do so is to post. Why do you require a separate screen to log in?

not that I would want the current behaviour changed in any way... we inmates are anonymous in our straight-jackets till we open our mouths...

Yeah... the only functionality one gains by logging in *is* posting, so there's no reason to enter your username/password otherwise. Once you've posted once, if you have cookies on, you shouldn't have to reenter it.

This is old forum software, which explains why that's how it's done.

maybe kat is used to other boards where one has to logon in order to: search or sometimes view some forums.

It's like new coke...we're going to replace the interface for a few days with something hot pink and covered in flashing things and scrolling marquees...then, when everyone hates it, we'll bring back the original asylum as Asylum Classic, and make millions!

but over time it just logs you out automatically .. I've noticed if you go away more then 5 or so hrs it logs you out automatically

oh well .. no matter it's not like I can't get away from this place

Found another link to the nonexistent new Asylum in my referers again the other day. Different URL for some reason. And no password protection. Didn't blurt it out this time, though.
