Topic awaiting preservation: Ripped... but who did it? (Page 1 of 1)

I was checking my referrer logs to see if anyone was hotlinking off my site (happens every once in a while, I usually replace said pic with this one (profanity warning)...

I have no idea where it's from (The text seems to me like Arabian or Hebrew), no idea how to contact the owner (if they even speak English...)

Does anyone have any idea on what to do next? Sure, I could replace all my images like I usually do, but that means a lot of relocating and I don't really feel like doing that for something minor like this (it doesn't seem that the owner is bent on making money on it, or even claiming it's his or her own work)..

So, ideas? Quibbles? Do we have someone here who has any idea what kind of language it even is?

mhmm...sorry, can't help you much. but i agree with you that the owner doesn't try to make money with it....looks like the page of a 12 year old girl.
maybe try to contact the host?

You could just place all those photos into a different dir and run a global search and replace on any of your pages that contain the images.

mahjqa: I'd suggest using JKMabry's code above and emailing them. I found this address on one of the pages: webniranbd@walla.co.il

I don't think they are claiming they did the pictures but perhaps, as it doesn't say mahjqa on the images, they assumed you'd just picked them up from elsewhere or they have no idea about copyrigth and assume everything online is up for grabs so it is worth telling them where the land lies.

I would just use the referal script, but possibly consider getting your graphic translated into a few languages

well, that was tasteless, petskull...

Whilst it doesn't say "Mahjqa" on the images... all of the images link to Mahjqa's site itself. If that isn't a tribute to the author... what is? They should have asked before linking to his site so ping them for that. Just let 'em know that such things are best requested.
