Alright all. Here's the deal I have a friend that needs a logo for his new chiropractice office. He asked me to work on it for him, but I'm not the design maestro many here are. So.. I got him to pony up $100 to have a contest for who here can design the best logo for him.

The name of the office is "Global Chiropractic" so think globe and backs and spines and all that. You've got one week, until Thursday Oct 16th to get submissions into logo@mikekicksass.com I'll leave some wiggle room on the date because of the international nature of this board. And then he'll pick his favorite. If he doesn't pick one the no one gets the cash, but I doubt that will happen. You can submit as many designs as you want. Though if for some wierd reason I get swamped I may stop taking submissions early. This logo will be used for letterhead, business cards etc. So while full color submissions are fine, make sure it should be able to work in a simple black and white as well or 3-4 color version as well.

I *think* that illustrator docs / Vector Graphics are better for this than PhotoShop since it's easier to resize without jaggies but use what you've got and we can work from there.

Preferred entries are links to graphics, then raw graphics. We don't need source files unless you are chosen.

enjoy!

Could you tell us a bit more about the client? . Who uses his services, elderly, children, sport med, ect. What is the location like. Does he specialize in any particular area. Is there anything that makes him different from the the other chiropractic clinic in the area. Why should some choose to go to him.

Does he have a website? Bio or flyers.

I'll ask him. Here's what I know. His services are fairly general chiropractic, as is his clients. He is only a few years out of school so he's still building his practice (he actually had a more experienced partner who is leaving which is why the name change). Because of this he hasn't really carved out a niche within the field.

That being said, he is a competitive body builder and has a lot of experience with nutrition and sports therapy. He is also of Taiwanese descent and speaks fluent Chinese (I think it's the Mandarin dialect but I'm not %100 on that.) These two qualities probably are what most distinguishes him. Many of his current clients are either gym/health types or of an Asian ethnicity.

Location is Millbrae California. A relatively small middle-class suburb just south of San Francisco. (If you've ever flown into SF the airport is actually in Millbrae). The area is very diverse socially, financially, and ethnically.

I'll try to find out more about any specialties.

Well I will give it a try, I have a few ideas. Since the print production class I was to teach this month was cancelled and moved to third trimester. And no frelance work had has come in I have lots of time to play. So I plan a saturday concepting and photography for several portfolio projects at the local coffee shop. With some luck I should have a few ideas I can work up in Illustrator that I can throw your way by maybe Sunday morning or late afternoon. What version of Illustrator format would you perfer, Version 6 or 8 .ai and a basic EPS would most likely be the safest in my option.
