This is a thread for movies that you see that have a distinct reminder in real life. Like when you see Psycho and then everytime you take a shower from then on you think of that movie.

For me, I have a few.

The Ring:

Everytime I see a fuzzy screen now, I get a little startled for a second and since I've seen the movie so many times, I start to hear the sounds of the tape in my head (for a second of course).

American Pie:

I think anyone can relate to this, because now everytime someone says "And this one time," there's always someone to immediately interrupt with "AT BANDCAMP!"

Terminator 2:

For me, everytime I see a motorcycle parked somewhere it reminds me of that line Arnold says "I need your boots, your cloths, and your motorcycle."

Office Space:

Well, plain and simple, anytime I hear someone say a long and careless "Yea.........," I think of Bill Lumburgh.

I could probably think of some more but not right now. I'm curious to see what some of you might have to say.

Mental recognition...ok, i'll play

Any interaction with a client reminds me that Randall was right, "this job would be great if it wasnt for the fuckin customers..."

Also thanks to Mr Smith I always think that somewhere uncomfortable is the back seat of a volkswagen.

When I drive my big, primer, redneck 4x4 in traffic I am Mad Max blazing across the desert at the end of beyond thunderdome, sans the shotgun, the cool clothes and the kid with the white painted face.

When I see a really nice classic sports car I think of cameron's line in Ferris Bueller's Day Off about his dads Ferrari, "He never even drives it! He just rubs it with a diaper."

I live near a Circle K and I thank the ever wooden Keaneau Reeves in Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure for the thought that, "strange things are afoot at the Circle K..."

On the rare occasion when somebody runs thier mouth a bit its suddenly Reservoir Dogs, "Are you going to bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite?"

And on the odd chance when I happen to be questioned by the police, I remember that deep down I am Keyser Soze...

The expensive sportscar reminds me of Bad Boys "No cupholder, no back seats. This is just a shiny dick with 2 chairs in it."

Nah, I'm just kidding... I think about Fight Club in every circumstance.

And, well, math always makes me think of a pulsating brain, like in Pi.

I just watched the Usual Suspects last night, great movie.

Anyway,

I unfortuantly saw the Shining at a very young age, I think I was 6 or seven,
and for several years after that, whenever I would go the bathroom I would
check the shower to see if that horrible lady was laying in their all gross and
ready to get me. Sometimes, still to this day, (I am now 28) I sometimes peer
into the shower warily.

Not so much a movie but whenever I'm working in a pharmacy and we load Cephalexin into our robots I think of Roland from The Darktower books by Stephen King.

Cephalexin is the generic equivalent for Keflex.

Ok, I'll bite...

Sitting well dressed in a big chair feeling cooler than ice -> Michael Corleon, The Godfather
"This job would be great if it wasn't for the fucking customers" -> same situations, but also applying to teacher at the Uni...
Recursive bad events in one day -> "I wasn't even even supposed to BE here today!!"
Sitting around with my friends burning time -> "Time for a bit of the ol' Ultra-Violence..."

Stuff like that..

If you ever read anything besides those "over 40" softcore porn mags you'd know it comes from a scene in one of the books Jason.

To this day I can't hear the compliment of "You're too kind" without thinking "two kind of what?" (From the audience participation of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.)

Everytime I encounter something weird I hear Dorothy say "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto..."

I was on the freeway today (going to a Japanese exam) and I just started thinking about The Matrix Reloaded.

And Skaarjj, I don't always think about kaiju. It just takes up a proportionately large percentage of my thinking power (the rest is devoted to killing book nazis and writing novels about the future).

Pulp fiction - "pigs a filthy animal, I don't eat filthy animals" - (everytime I eat pork)

Every time I have to explain something to someone, I always think: "Let me 'splain... no, is too much, let me sum up" (Inigo Montoya, bringing the recently resurrected Wesley up to speed, "The Princess Bride")

There's more, many more... but at the moment, the mental connections aren't happening. Just wait, I'll remember a ton more when I don't have access to the internet!

Oh yes, I can't look at clown dolls since I watched Poltergeist... I always think of that scene in the boy's bedroom... *shudder*

edit - tenses are very important!
