I've been addicted to these 2 games recently, so I feel the need to share them.

The first is an online RPG, Survival Project, you start off in channel 1 where you fight easy monsters in a dungeon and level up and earn money. When you get past a certain level you are allowed to access the next channel which has tougher monsters and more game options and so on until channel 5.

The controls take a little getting used to, but they work pretty well.

You need to download a 80MBish file for this and register at the site to play.

The second is a worms type game called Gunbound, in it you earn money to spend on clothes to personalise your character, but these clothes increase your stats too, and instead of basic different weapons you ride on "cars" with guns, one being a turtle with water type weapons.

You need to download a 100MBish file for this and also register at the site.

Just thought I'd share these, they're great games and both are completely free! I was up playing gunbound until 4:30am this morning

Been looking for an RPG to waste my time on, so I'll definately be checking out the first. Looks quite a lot like the Secret of Mana series.

I recently discovered that most of the games in stores nowadays require specific vid cards, ATI and Nvidia to be precise. Wish I had known this before wasting $60 on Enter the Matrix and RotK. Kind of misleading if you ask me, especially with the big PC logo on the box. I figured I have a brand new laptop, they would run. Bah!! Lesson learned.

In general: when a game (or anything, for that matter) says "nVidia" or "Radeon" on the side, that means that they have some specific (and generaly inane) effects in the game that require a certain video card. Like Tron 2.0 (great game, BTW), which requires a specific card to get this cool glowey effect, but it'll run on any machine with any card powerfull enough to handle it.

That may be in general, but neiter matrix nor RotK would run at all. You would think games on that scale, being that they pull in a lot of sales, would be made compatible with any modern system. My 2.4Ghz Toshiba laptop with 512MB RAM and 64MB vid card for example.

It'd be like if Photoshop ran on only AMD processors or a Honda ran only on Exxon gas.

Well, Matrix ran on my comp fine.

I have a 1.4 P4, 512 SD RAM and a 64mb Radeon 7200.

But it ran on my friends with about the same specs and a nVidia card as well.

Maybe theirs a deeper problem than your video card?

$30 each for Matrix and RotK? Wow...I wish we had those kinds of prices over here. We wouldn't pay less than $100 each for them

Yup, you are lucky. I think we got our com channels crossed, never said I had a Radeon. I have an intel graphics controller, sorry for the confusion.

Skarjj: Actually, I should be getting the $10 mail in rebate back on that, so it will be $50 for both. If you were thinking of buying, I'd let you take them off my hands for say $40 + shipping. Not sure where you're at or how much that would be, but if you're interested let me know. Hate to see anyone pay that much for a game when I have 2 perfectly good copies lying around.

Intel controllers share main memory for graphics, that's your likely cause of problem.

Or at least I think so...
