Welp, I realize that I shouldn't post homework in here, but...

...I'm having some trouble understanding this (it's part of a page in our workbook):

Well, in this context 'doch' (for which I never found a unniversal enlish translation) is an intensifier...
Like you'd intesify 'Please buy some butter' to "Would you please buy some butter". Usually used by moms when you haven't cleaned up your room yet... "Raeum doch bitte dein Zimmer auf"...
