Funny you bring this up just now. I recently got interested in Go, and for the last few days have been busy lettingthis program kick the sh*t out of me. It's the Freeware version of a commercial Go program, which is limited to a 9x9 board (which is frustrating enough fgor beginners like me).

It's help includes a good Go tutorial for total beginners BTW.

[edit] as for rants: although the rules are simple, trying to wrap your mind around this game is really hard if you're used to more "conventional" stuff like chess - it's a totally different world[/edit]

I also just started playing baduk (you'll excuse me if I use the Korean term) recently myself. My sister-in-law's husband has been teaching me. It's quite a challenge.

I had some friends in college who seriously got into this game. I've only played it once or twice... They didn't have much patience with a beginner. I had my a** kicked royally a couple of times and decided to just watch.

It's a very intense strategy game - like nothing I've ever played before. I didn't know they had it online... now I really do have to go learn it!

Go is a wonderful game. I last played on Yahoo games but finding people willing to play Go is a task in itself.

I could go for a game of Go. Whats the consensus on good places to play online. I know Yahoo Games has extensive gaming options avaliable. We could set up games like PSpong. I just know I am rusty, havent played a game of Go in about 2 years. Pente is a fun game too, much faster than Go. It might be better suited to group play.
