Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. I don't really see any reason to believe it. Honestly, if you asked me to compare those pictures of Saddam to *each other*, let alone the picture of the guy they captured, I'd say they were pictures of different people.

The other link doesn't provide much evidence for its story either. It even seems to imply that a DNA comparison between Saddam and his cousin wouldn't show an obvious difference. I don't know too much about DNA, but I really doubt that that's the case.

In any case, it seems like this argument is based off of "the American government is lying" and not much more. So I'm not taking it too seriously.

I heard Saddam was going to be on TV, doing an exclusive interview, click here for more info.

When you look at those pictures and compare them, you have to remember that those on the left are of a wealthy, well fed dictator, whereas the ones on the right are of a starved, frightened man. You'd be surprised how many your appearance cna change in just a few weeks when making that kind of transition.

His whole life has been ripped away, to me the only difference in the pictures is the fact the new one shows a defeated man who has lost everything and has no hope. What I saw on Sunday morning was exactly what I expected to see, a broken man. And anyway, how would hiding this benefit anyone? If he were killed before, you would think they would have ran straight to the media as they did with his sons. There is nothing to gain here, IMO.

You had to know this was coming, I am just surprised it took so long.

Looking at all those pictures side by side, I am only convinced that they are most definately the same person.

I am at a total loss as to what anyone can see as indicating otherwise, and would love to hear an explanation from anyone who feels it is not him.

(yes, I've looked at the nose, and found nothing but a match, in construct and in size)

There has been speculation here that the man they have arrested is not Saddam, Here is the truth of the matter...

Actually it is not. The man they are passing off as Saddam is an actor called Paddy McNeeny, an Australian aborigine of Scottish or Irish descent who ran away to Hollywood on his fifteenth birthday.

He and a co-conspiritor hatched this plot to cream in the $25,000,000 reward for Saddam. After they collected the cash he was meant to wipe off all his make up and walk away leaving the Yanks to think Saddam had escaped.

Unfortunatey he made the mistake of using the new range of long lasting make-ups from Boots and it won't come off. When Bush got to hear about the scam he thought it was great so they decided to go along with it until they top him.

The CIA are now planning a chistmas eve spectacular with a Bin Laden look alike. Britney Spears is to take the leading roll in this one but it is giving the make-up people one hell of a headache. Latest CIA intelligence indicates that Bin Laden does not have boobs like Britney and to make matters worse her accent is awful and will never pass it off as Arab.

The British security people have come up with a solution on this that may work, a tight fitting T-shirt to disguise her boobs and to infect her with laryingitis so she cannot speak.

Mr Blair and Mr Bush have had top level talks on this outrageous plan to fool the world a second time. So long as they keep Miss Spears out of the rain so her T-shirt does not get wet I am sure they will pull it off. (The scam that is, not the T-shirt)

Just watch this space. In the mean time if anyone has a picture of Britney in a wet T-shirt please feel free to email me one. I need it to keep a look out in case the fiendish plot fails. It will be kept behind the office door at work because I suspect that the wife might not approve of Bushs' plot, and all my colleagues wish to help me keep an eye out for Bin as well.
