I am best man for wedding August 7, 2004. Trying to decide where to go. My buddy doesn?t want to go to Vegas b/c he doesn?t gamble and the flight is 5 hours direct flight . . I am not going to argue- I am fine planning somewhere else.

I have been looking into Montreal- I heard it?s a good time, 1.5 hour flight from NYC, international beer festival June 2-6, so we are favoring that week. Here are the cities we are thinking of:

1. Montreal
2. South Beach/Ft Lauderdale/Miami
3. NYC
4. Hamptons/LBI

Whoever has experience with the above cities, please shed some light . . .

1. expensive?
2. good restraraunts?
3. good strip clubs?
4. good bars?
5. any sort of gambling- just in case some folks want to do that?

. . . . so good place for a bachelor party?

Thanks!

There is much more to do in Vegas than gamble. Took forever to convince two friends to go to Vegas because they didn't really like gambling, but once they went, they wanted to keep going back.

I'd suggest the Hamptons. I have a summer house out in Southampton and its absolutely beautiful. There are good restaurants and bars to choose from and theres always the possiblity of nailing Paris Hilton.

ah yes, Paris . . . I mean, ahem. Hamptons. We are considering it, but can we get a house for wed/thursday - sunday? Also, are lines for bars/clubs too long . . . feed me inside info. Been to Hamptons once 6 years ago.

Thanks!

Personally, I've never had to look for a home in the Hamptons. This is the off season though so if you book early I can't imagine you'll have TOO much trouble finding a room. I Google'd for bed & breakfasts and hotels out east and found a good listing of places at www.southforkweddings.com/hamptons-bed-breakfasts.html . I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty of places through Google.

As far as bars and clubs are concerned I'm not yet 21 and don't really drink. As far as I know things aren't too bad though. I've never heard older friends or family complain. I'll be happy to test the waters for you this summer. I turn 21 in Feb.

Check out http://www.hamptonsinfo.com/ Theres some good information on there as what there is to do.
